How to measure your Toy Hauler

Q: Measuring and Installing your RV Cover
A: The best way to make sure your cover fits properly is to physically measure your RV. If you know the make and model, the manufacturer specifications are generally different than what you really have. Its always a good idea that you physically go and measure .

Q: How do I measure my coach for an RV cover?
A: Measure RV from end to end (including bumpers, and spare tire) to determine the cover needed for proper fit. From our experiences, Do not rely on manufacturer's specifications. The RV Cover should have a little loose.

Q: How about air conditioners and other roof equipment?
A: All of our covers are meant to go over air conditioners. The cover will just ride a little higher on each side of your RV where the roof equipment is. You do not add the air conditioner as part of your overall height.

How to install your cover

To install the cover, proceed as follows:

  1. Place the rolled cover on the front end of the roof.
  2. Roll the cover to the back end of the roof.
  3. Working from front to back, spread the cover to the side edges of the roof.
  4. From the ground, use a stepladder and work from front to back to pull the cover down over the sides of the RV. Adjust the fit as necessary.
  5. Before securing the elasticized hems, you may wish to use the included reinforcement/repair kit to add protection to stress areas.
  6. Secure the elasticized hems under the front and rear end of the RV.
  7. Using the tie down straps provided, secure the cover as shown above and adjust to create a snug fit. All covers also have an adjustable strap system attached to the front of the unit to provide a more secure fit.

Never store a wet cover in the storage bag or confined area as the cover can be damaged by mildew.

Please Note! Your cover is for storage only. Do not attempt to travel with the cover on, or partially on. Contact with hot surfaces such as exhaust systems will damage the cover.

Caution! Always take care when walking on the roof of your RV. SafeGuard Covers and our parent company takes no responsibility for accidents or damage resulting from walking on the roof of the RV. Avoid walking on the cover because you may slip and fall. Whenever possible, use two people to install the cover. Do not attempt to install the cover in windy conditions.

Cleaning Instructions: The cover may be cleaned by spraying with a hose and/or using a solution of mild soap and water, and a soft brush. Don’t use abrasive cleaners or harsh brushes. Rinse with hose and allow to dry completely before folding for storage.

Warranty: If this cover fails due to a defect in workmanship and materials within five (5) years from the date of purchase SafeGuard Covers will repair or replace it free of charge. Trailering or towing your vehicle with your cover on will invalidate the warranty. This warranty gives you specific rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
